Tribute Funds

A Tribute Fund is a special way to celebrate the life of someone you have lost.

It allows you, your family and friends the opportunity to come together online to remember your loved one, the life they lived and the impact they made in a personal and positive way.

Each and every gift acts as a tribute to your loved one whilst helping St Benedict's Hospice at the same time. A special way to let their legacy live on through helping other local people with life limiting illnesses.

Remember a loved one with JustGiving

When someone dies a perfect way to keep their memory alive for everyone who knew them is to set up a Just Giving Memory Page to celebrate their life.

The page stays active for as long as you want it and all fundraising and donations in memory can be channelled through the page.

It is the perfect way to:

  • collect donations from funerals (even those who are not there can donate)

  • collect sponsorship if you're doing an event in memory

  • make donations on birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas or any other celebration days

It's really easy to do just click on the Just Giving icon above and follow the instructions or visit Just Giving to find out more.

Leave a Legacy

By leaving even the smallest of legacies, you could continue your commitment to support the Hospice in the future; ordinary supporters make an extraordinary difference. By leaving us a gift in their Will, every year ordinary supporters of St Benedict’s Hospice from every part of our community help to give extraordinary care to our patients.

Even the smallest of gifts in your Will can ensure that we can make a big difference to the lives of our patients, helping them to make the most of the time they have with their family and loved ones.

You can choose to remember us in your Will in several different ways:

  • A residual gift: what is left of your estate after any specific legacies have been made. You can give all or a portion of this as a gift. This is often the most beneficial type of gift as it tends to hold its value.
  • A specific gift: an item, such as jewellery, an antique or even a property.
  • A pecuniary gift: a set amount of money.

If you have not already seen a solicitor you should make an appointment to discuss your wishes, or why not take advantage of St Benedict’s Hospice Make a Will Month? After you have provided for your loved ones it is easy to leave your gift to St Benedict’s, free of Inheritance Tax.

If you have already made a Will you can add a gift to St Benedict’s by drawing up a codicil, a simple addition to your Will. Simply send it to your solicitor who should not charge you for adding it to your existing Will, or do this through one of our Make a Will Months which are held in June and November each year.  Through Make a Will Month you can make your Will through one of our participating solicitors free of charge in return for a donation to the hospice.
