Our Charity Shops

We have a number of charity shops that are open 7 days a week. Full to the brim with clothing, accessories, ornaments, furniture and many other items!

They are your go to place to grab a bargain AND knowing that at the same time you will be supporting St Benedict’s Hospice, thank you! Trading hours are 9am – 4:45pm, Monday to Saturday. Due to an increase in demand we have extended our Sunday hours to 10am-4pm as well as re-opening our Seaham Warehouse to the public on weekends from Saturday the 12th of October 2024.

Contributions

We welcome donations of good quality items at all of our shops and we can arrange a collection of furniture free of charge. Please note, there are a number of items we cannot accept for legal and health and safety reasons, such as mattresses that have been used or sofas without fire safety labels. Retail Gift Aid

If you pay UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax your donations to our charity shops could be worth even more if you agree to complete a Retail Gift Aid Form when you donate your items. By completing this you will be agreeing to allow St Benedict’s Hospice to act as an agent to sell your goods on your behalf and when the items are sold we will then be able to claim Gift Aid on the net proceeds. This means that for every £10 we raise from the sale of your items we will actually receive £12.50, all at no cost to yourself.
