Join Team Benedict at The BIG Walk on Sunday 27 September 2026 and raise money for vital palliative care!

Whether you\’re taking your first steps to moving more, a fun activity with the family or looking to step up to a personal challenge, we have a route that\’s right for you.Choose from:

3 mile circular route around Herrington Country Park accompanied by fun activities and Active Sunderland staff – perfect for families and young children.

Those who don\’t want to do the activities can follow the signs and complete the route on their own / in their own group:

6 mile route especially for beginners

9 mile route for more experienced walkers

13.5 mile route for experienced walkers to challenge themselves and maybe even set a personal best
