At St Benedict’s, we are always keen to hear from individuals, groups and companies who can volunteer their time and expertise to support our work. Whether it is helping us maintain our extensive gardens, volunteering in one of our shops or supporting a fundraising event, there are many different ways people can volunteer and we know that giving a few hours of time can make a huge difference.
Support from the local business community is so important to St Benedict’s Hospice. Whether is it donations of money, gifts in kind, sponsorship of or participation in events, pro-bono services, charity of the year adoptions or employee time it all makes a huge difference to what we are able to provide for our patients and their families.

Barclays
An example of the difference you can make is a recent visit from a team from Barclays Doxford Park, who spent an afternoon at the hospice. The team planted winter bedding plants provided by St Benedict’s Hospice charity and tidied up in our courtyard area.
Barclays team leader Stacey said after their visit, “We had a great afternoon and it feels good to be able to help out in the community again after the Covid-19 pandemic.” Following their visit, one of our patients sat out in the garden the following morning and said she found it “so peaceful” and was delighted to see the transformation.
