
T34 3rd Edition Syringe Driver Training
Objectives
At the end of the session participants will be able to:
- Describe what a syringe driver is and the clinical reasons for it's use.
- Identify the key features of the T34 3rd Edition and demonstrate knowledge of their function.
- Demonstrate how to load a syringe in the T34 3rd Edition and programme to deliver the contents of the syringe.
- Describe the care and maintenance of the T34 3rd Edition syringe pump.
- Discuss the common drugs used in a T34 3rd Edition and the reasons for their use.
Intended Audience
Qualified nursing staff working in Community and Hospital who have responsibility for setting up a T34 Syringe pump when caring for adult patients with palliative care/end of life care needs. The session is scheduled for 2 hours, staff who are new to using the device will be able to stay for additional practice time up to 3 hours. Please note that all training delivered at St Benedict’s Hospice is based on local policies and procedures.
