Two Part-time Vacancies Within Our Patient Transport Service

We are looking to recruit to two part-time positions within our Patient Transport Service.

1.   Part-time (job share) Transport Co-ordinator - 19 hours per week

2.   Part-time Assistant Transport Co-ordinator - 23 hours per week

Due to an increase in in our fleet of vehicles and the consequent growth in the number of clients we transport we are looking to the above roles.

Our transport service is a key part of the Charity's provision and operates 5 days per week each week.   Each journey is customised to meet the needs of each client and provided by our team of volunteer drivers whose schedule is managed by our Transport Co-ordinator who will reduce his current full-time hours to create a job share post.  Both the Transport Co-ordinators and Assistant will be required to drive any of the vehicles in peak times or in the absence of any of our volunteers.

Applicants are required to possess a clean driving licence with D or D1 entitlement to drive minibuses and in order to comply with our vehicle and passenger insurance arrangements we can only accept applications for posts that involve driving from people aged between 25 and 75 years of age.

Anyone interested in these posts should contact Irwin Smart on 0191 512 8299 or email Irwin to request an application pack.  The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday 24th April 2017.

2 Charity of the Year Adoptions Aiming to Raise Money and Awareness

We are absolutely honoured to have been chosen to receive support from the new Mayor of Sunderland, Cllr Alan Emerson, as one of his Mayoral Charities for the coming year and also to have been chosen as Local Charity of the Year for the Sainsbury's Store in Silksworth.

Our Fundraising Team are looking forward to working with both the Mayor's Office and the team at Sainsbury's to ensure that we maximise the opportunities that these adoptions can bring both in terms of raising much needed funds and also in raising awareness of the work of St Benedict's Hospice in our local community.

Thank you so much to them both for choosing to support us in this way and do look out for news about what each of them are up to over the course of the next few months either here on the website or on our Facebook page.
