Out-patient clinics are held within the centre each week on different days and times. Clinics are run by a Consultant (Dr) in Palliative Medicine, a nurse practitioner or a specialist nurse.
On request from a General Practitioner, a home visit may be made by a Consultant in Palliative Medicine or another member of the medical team to a patient who, for some reason, finds it difficult to attend one of the out-patient clinics. Requests for a home visit should be made by the General Practitioner to medical staff at St Benedict’s Hospice. If at all possible, domiciliary visits will be made within 2 working days. Visits can also be arranged via the patient’s palliative care specialist nurse.
We offer a range of services which provide support for patients 24 hours a day.
We offer a range of education and training opportunities to NHS and non-NHS staff.
